Apple cider vinegar is said to help anyone lose weight, not have acne, and just overall better their health, but when they say this they don’t talk about the real life long effects. Before I discuss the effects I will start with what apple cider vinegar is and what it does, scientifically. The vinegar is made by combining yeast and apples, the yeastllll converts the sugar in the apples into alcohol. Bacteria is added to ferment the mixture, creating acetic acid that makes up 5%-6% of the vinegar with other things like water, acids, vitamins, and minerals.
The reason it is popular is that there has been multiple studies in animals and humans that apple cider vinegar may promote fat burning and weight loss. This may sound wonderful that all you have to do is take a shot of the vinegar and all these wonderful things will happen, as this may be true there are many side effects that can be serious if too much is taken. For example, the high acidity or acetic acid of the vinegar has caused the decaying of tooth enamel, esophageal(throat) burns, and may reduce appetite or cause nausea. All these risks can be lowered by diluting the vinegar with war and drinking with a straw or being aware of your allergies. Another very important safety precautions in not doing this if you have Type 1 Diabetes, as it can result in gastroparesis. Overall this can be a great tool to use if done right and responsibly.
